Shah Mir

Founder of Kashmir's first long-lasting Muslim dynasty.

Shah Mir arrived in Kashmir in the early 14th century and rose through royal service under the last Hindu rulers. In 1339 he took the throne as Sultan Shamsuddin, and his descendants ruled for more than 200 years.
